An Israeli medical cannabis company hopes to be the first marijuana company to list on the London Stock Exchange next month – if it meets all the requirements.

Kanabo, which makes vaporizing equipment, is set to hit investors this week as major players in Israel’s well-developed medical cannabis industry continue to knock on the doors of UK lawmakers.

Cannabis medicines can be used to treat conditions such as insomnia and other sleep disorders, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder. However, different countries have different laws and the UK has some of the strictest.

That reluctance has led industry insiders to warn that Britain is being left behind. Just last month, Panaxia, another Israeli medical cannabis company, completed its first commercial export of medical cannabis products to Germany.
